Licensing Activities
Treefera data products are licensed according to the Licensing Activities below. Each activity defines the rights attached to that tier and directly determines how Treefera data may be used.
Each Licensing Activity is a distinct right, licensed separately and specified in the Customer's Order Form. Holding one activity does not confer rights under any other. Customers should refer to their Order Form to understand which activities apply to each product.
Treefera data may not be shared, distributed, or submitted externally in its original or unmodified form, or on a standalone basis, under any licence type. Where Treefera data is shared externally — whether in a report, regulatory filing, or commercial reference - it must form part of a derivative work in which the Customer has applied their own analysis, judgment, or methodology. Any material shared externally must not provide the recipient with a mechanism to extract, reproduce, or reverse-engineer the underlying Treefera data.
Treefera is a data provider. Nothing contained in this document, and no Treefera data or output, constitutes legal, financial, investment, regulatory, compliance, or professional advice of any kind. Customers are solely responsible for their own decisions, analyses, and compliance obligations.
For any redistribution queries, reach out to your Treefera contact, or sales@treefera.com.

(b) automated workflow integration - systematic, machine-driven consumption of Treefera data as a trigger or input in operational processes, without individual human review of each data point.
Any derivative product must not reproduce or permit reverse-engineering of the underlying Treefera data, or be externally shared.
Permitted:
- Using Treefera data as inputs to proprietary models or strategies

- Automated API consumption where data systematically triggers or informs internal operational decisions
- Embedding data as a systematic input in internal commercial programs (e.g. lending workflows, procurement automation)
Not Permitted:

- Consumption via third-party AI platforms not under the Customer's direct technical control, without prior written approval
- Sharing derived data externally without the applicable External Use licence (LA3)
- Redistribution of Treefera data as part of any derivative product
LA 3 - External Use (Reporting, Regulatory Declaration, Certification)
The right to share or submit Treefera-derived analysis, findings, or outputs outside the Customer's organisation
Covers two subcategories:
(a) External Reporting: Sharing of Treefera-derived analysis, findings or outputs with investors, auditors, downstream customers, board members, or other third parties, for information purposes only. Attribution to Treefera as a data source is required using Treefera; 2026. Treefera data shared under this subcategory must not permit reverse engineering, bulk extraction, standalone use, or third-party commercial exploitation.
(b) Regulatory & Certification Filing: Use of Treefera-derived analysis, findings or outputs as evidence or support in formal submissions to regulators, certification bodies, registries, tax authorities, or auditors - including due diligence documentation and registry submissions. The Customer is solely responsible for the fitness of their filing, regulatory interpretation, and the conclusions drawn from Treefera data.
Note: Treefera is a data and intelligence provider. Treefera does not certify, validate, or endorse any conclusion, declaration, or claim made by the Customer.
Permitted:
- Client-facing reports, disclosures, investor presentations, board packs, and sustainability publications (with attribution)
- Sharing Treefera-derived analysis, findings or outputs with auditors, regulators, and competent authorities as supporting documentation

- Submission of Treefera-derived analysis, findings or outputs to registries or certification bodies as part of the Customer's own filing
- Sharing Treefera-derived analysis, findings or outputs with downstream supply chain partners in compliance or due diligence packs
Not Permitted:
- Using Treefera-derived analysis, findings or outputs as the binding or determinative basis for a commercial contract, pricing, or financial transaction (see LA4)
- Incorporation in a product or service supplied to third parties
- Bulk extraction, standalone redistribution, or use that permits reverse engineering of underlying data
- Representation that Treefera has certified, validated, or is responsible for any outcome or claim
- Sharing or submitting Treefera data in its original or unmodified form, or in any form from which the underlying Treefera data can be extracted, reproduced, or reverse-engineered by the recipient.
LA 4 - Commercial Reliance
The right to use Treefera data as reference basis for a commercially consequential outcome.
This licence applies where reliance on Treefera data goes beyond informational or evidential use, and Treefera data becomes a reference point for a decision with monetary or contractual consequence.

- Using Treefera data as a trigger or threshold basis in performance-linked payment schemes

- Incorporation in a product supplied to third parties without an applicable redistribution licence
- Sharing or submitting Treefera data in its original or unmodified form, or in any form from which the underlying Treefera data can be extracted, reproduced, or reverse-engineered by the recipient
